The African Horse Back Safari Company
The African Horse back Safari Company are very highly rated in the Okavango Delta. Their base camp is Macatoo which is on the western side of the Delta. It is a 40 min charter flight from Maun. The camp is very comfortable and beautifully situated. The accommodation is luxury tented accommodation. Each tent is very private with an en suite bathroom. There is a communal mess tent which is both comfortable and well equipped.
The greater Okavango area is 17000km sq and is the largest inland delta in the world. Its mixed labyrinth channels, palm fingered islands and fertile floodplains are trapped in the parched sands of the Kalahari desert. This makes it a magnet for wild life. There are in excess of 400 different bird species some resident and some migrant. It is home to lions, elephant, giraffe, hyenas, wild dog, buffalo, hippo and crocodiles. As well as a variety of antelope and smaller animals such as warthog, mongoose, genets, monkeys as well as bushbabies.
Your daily routine starts at 6am with coffee, followed by breakfast. Then a 4 hour ride followed by lunch and then a siesta, some reading and or a swim in the pool. The later ride leaves after tea at 4:30 and is about 2 hours. After a hot shower, dinner is served - the location changes regularly. The food in wonderful! And then its off to bed where one can fall asleep listening to the calls of Africa.
This is a once in a life time experience not to be missed!

However should you wish to go at any other time of year please don't hesitate to contact us to do your booking for you. This we will gladly help you with at no extra cost to you.
